Nestled on a lush palm island in the heart of the northern Okavango Delta, Shinde is an intimate camp located at the edge of Shinde lagoon, teeming with animal and bird life. The main lodge’s unique tree house made of a multi-tiered raised dining/lounge area under canvas, set amongst the shade of ebony and mangosteen, complements the atmosphere of this original safari camp.
Set in an amphitheatre of ebony and sausage trees on the southern tip of Chief’s Island, Stanley’s Camp borders the southern section of the Moremi Game Reserve. This private concession is located by definition in seasonal delta. The floodwaters arrive around June, although there is often navigable water all year round due to the presence of the Boro River.
The area is home to a wide variety of big game including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog. Stanley’s consists of 8 classic styled safari tents raised on wooden decking. The decks are furnished with hammocks and Morris chairs. Each unit offers en-suite facilities, a private deck, and is equipped with a ceiling fan.
